October 14 - Session 4:  Hurry Up and Wait: The Long Process and Strategy To Enroll People in Coverage

Guest: Marlon Marshall, Special Assistant to the President, Principal Deputy of the Office of Public Engagement

This session would discuss the four-year timeline of implementation that significantly contributed to the confusion and the consternation over the law. We will discuss the various constituencies that individually benefited from the law’s provisions but collectively didn’t like the law. Lastly, we will breakdown the challenges to existing federal law before the Supreme Court and how the court’s split ruling on Medicaid made reaching target groups difficult. We will provide insight into the White House planning and strategy to reach 7 million people with health coverage.
