November 4 - Session 7: Too Black, Too Strong: The politics of Race in Healthcare Reform
Guest: Shavon Arline-Bradley, Chief of Staff, NAACP
This session would be a discussion of the racial and ethnic politics of healthcare. Specifically the cost of uninsured on state and local government, the impact of health disparities and how the Affordable Care Act significantly changes this dynamic. Additionally we would discuss the economics of the ACA on private industry (long term profits) and how these profits could influence public policy.
