Session 5. Bain - The 2012 Presidential Campaign Four-Letter Word (March 25):
L140
It was clear than Mitt Romney’s business record would be scrutinized in the 2012 Presidential campaign. This session will take an inside look at the Romney campaign strategy and preparation for the imminent assault. We will discuss the need for self-opposition research, efforts to build a rapid response capability at the campaign and at Bain Capital. We will examine specific attacks, discuss facts vs. fiction, and scrutinized decisions made by the campaign. What would you have done? We will also discuss the collateral damage done to an organization and its employees caught in the political cross fire. Given the effectiveness of the assault, can a businessperson be elected President in a post Romney world? More importantly, have we created the environment where our most successful and qualified entrepreneurs refuse to throw their hats into the ring?
Invited Guests:
• Matt McDonald – Bain Capital Task Force, RFP
• Sean Doherty – Bain Capital Chief Operating Officer
• Steve Pagliuca – Bain Capital Managing Dir. & Massachusetts Senatorial Candidate
Spaces will be decided by a lottery - please enter by Monday March 24th at noon.
