Will Smialek

My name is Will Smialek, and I’m a junior (‘27) from Dublin, Ohio in Adams House, studying Government.

I am thrilled to serve as Vice President of the IOP this year. My focus is on expanding access to opportunities for all students—no matter which programs they call home—and ensuring that the IOP remains a true community for everyone. The IOP has always held a special place in my heart: its commitment to public service, unparalleled access to inspiring guests, and the 1,200+ students who bring this place to life. Stepping into this role is an incredible honor, and I can’t wait to make this year our strongest yet.

I first joined the IOP as Director of Membership in 2024 and most recently served as Chair of the Fellows & Study Groups (FSG) program in 2025. During my tenure, we set a record with more than 360 applications, doubled the number of students accepted into the program, and strengthened the sense of community across our leadership board.

Outside the IOP, I’ve served on Senior Management for Harvard Student Agencies (HSA) and work as a Senior Staffer for HMC Boston and HMC San Francisco. In my free time, I’m a diehard Ohio State football fan and enjoy unwinding with an episode of Succession or The Office.
