Summer Tan

Vice President

My name is Summer, and I am a junior in Quincy House (best house) studying Social Anthropology and East Asian Studies. This year, I am thrilled to be the IOP's Vice President. I am excited to develop new programs and projects (including our newest Global Affairs Program) in the IOP's 59th year, ensuring that the IOP remains a space for undergraduates to access opportunities in organizing and advocacy. In this post-election year, I look forward to ensuring students of all backgrounds and beliefs feel empowered to grow and learn from this passionate community.

Previously, I had the joy of serving as Co-Chair of the Fellows & Study Groups Program and as Director of Membership. I have also been a member of eight of our incredible programs, serving on leadership for four of them. I grew up in small-town Oregon. As such, you can usually find me speed-walking between HKS and Tozzer, looking for a good hike, or embroidering. Outside of the IOP, I am a researching Mellon Mays Undergraduate Fellow. I am so honored and grateful for the opportunity to represent the IOP's membership and build new pathways to politics and public service.
