Summer Tan
My name is Summer Tan, and I am a sophomore (Class of 2026) from West Linn, Oregon. I live in Quincy House studying Social Anthropology and East Asian Studies. This year, I am so excited to serve as the Co-Chair of Fellows & Study Groups (FSG), a program which brings prominent figures to the Institute of Politics as Resident Fellows, where they are tasked with hosting weekly conversations in their areas of expertise. FSG matches undergraduate liaison teams with Fellows, making politics accessible to the student community.
I am also a member of the IOP's Campaigns and Advocacy Program (as Social Chair), the Women's Initiative in Leadership (as Social Chair), the Harvard Public Opinion Project, the Harvard Votes Challenge, and CIVICS. Previously I served as the co-Director of Membership, where I loved meeting IOP members across all programs at social events and celebrations.
In my free time, I enjoy hiking, embroidery, and exploring Boston with friends. I am so grateful for the opportunity to connect students with incredible leaders and look forward to expanding the FSG community.
