Sophia Robertson

Harvard Public Opinion Project Chair

My name is Sophia Robertson, and I am a sophomore (Class of 2028) from Cambridge, Massachusetts, living in Quincy House and studying Government and Psychology. I serve as the Chair of the Harvard Public Opinion Project (HPOP), which runs the flagship Harvard Youth Poll, the premier survey on the political opinions and civic attitudes of young Americans aged 18-29.

In the coming year, I look forward to expanding HPOP's methodological scope to understand how young Americans' beliefs form and evolve over time; I also aim to deepen engagement with key stakeholders, incorporating insights from partisan leaders, nonpartisan organizations, and key scholars to rigorously examine current issues.

I also serve on the Conferences Committee, and am involved with the Harvard Political Union and the Harvard Votes Challenge. Outside of the IOP, I mediate court disputes with the Harvard Mediation Program, serve as an Intercollegiate Civil Disagreement Partnership Fellow at the Safra Center for Ethics, and support faculty research in political psychology. In my free time, I read, swim, and make overly-ambitious travel plans.
