My name is Rosie Couture, and I am a sophomore from Arlington, VA in Pforzheimer House studying Social Studies and Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. I am the Co-Chair of the Gender & Sexuality Coalition. Our mission is to build an empowering community for women and queer students in the IOP that brings issues regarding gender and sexuality to the forefront of the IOP's work. Over the next year, I am looking forward to equipping women and LGBTQ+ students in the IOP with the community, resources, and education they need to advocate for themselves politically. Outside of the IOP, I am an organizer with the Harvard Feminist Coalition and research social movement-building with the Radcliffe Institute and the Nonviolent Action Lab at Harvard. Beyond Harvard, I organize with Generation Ratify, the young people's movement to finalize the Equal Rights Amendment and advance gender justice. In my free time, I like to make music with friends, drink coffee, and watch reality television.
