Matthew Tobin

Policy Program Chair

My name is Matthew Tobin, and I'm a junior (Class of 2027) from Blauvelt, New York, living in Winthrop House and studying Social Studies and Economics. I am the Co-Chair of the Policy Program, the IOP's undergraduate think tank, which provides students with hands-on policy experiences and produces meaningful research tackling real-world challenges for government officials, nonprofits, and community organizations.

Over the next year, I look forward to collaborating with SAC, working with external partners and advisors, and developing more opportunities for members to connect with each other and policymakers.

In addition to the Policy Program, I've served on the Conferences Committee since my freshman year. Outside of the IOP, I am the Executive Director of the Harvard Undergraduate Legal Committee and a columnist for The Harvard Crimson. In the past, I've worked for U.S. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, the States United Democracy Center, and my beloved Rockland County YMCA. In my free time, I enjoy playing the bagpipes.
