My name is Matteo Diaz and I am a first-year (Class of 2027) living in Grays Hall. I hail from San Rafael, California and I plan to study electrical engineering. I am the Co-Chair of the Gender and Sexuality Coalition, a program that seeks to promote thoughtful discourse that explores the intersection of gender and sexuality with the political realm and inspires positive change on campus and beyond. Over the next year, I am looking forward to bringing people together to connect and discuss the most prevalent issues and experiences of the BGLTQ+ community. I am committed to serving and supporting all queer and trans students, both in the IOP and in the larger Harvard community. Apart from the GSC, I also serve as a member of the IOP's STEAM program, where I work at the crossroads of public policy, science, and technology. Outside of the IOP, I am a member of TransHarvard, The Harvard Crimson Editorial Board, and the Harvard Undergraduate Open Data Project. In my free time, I enjoy taking long walks with friends, listening to film scores, and indulging in all things science-fiction.
