Mark McDonald
My name is Mark McDonald and I am a sophomore (Class of 2028) from Rochester, Illinois in Currier House studying Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations (NELC) and Government. I one of two Co-Chairs of the Global Affairs Program (GAP), the first and only program in the IOP focused exclusively on global affairs. The program aims to foster a community dedicated to international relations and diplomacy at Harvard through leveraging the extensive resources and connections at the IOP and HKS.
In leading GAP this year, I’m thrilled to be able to expand opportunities for our cohort of members, through our different event series and pre-professional opportunities. I also hope to both increase experiences for members and affiliates, and improve existing ones to maximize their potential.
Outside of the IOP, I serve on the Board of the Harvard Democrats, as a designer for the Harvard International Review, chair of the Currier House Committee. My passions include languages, cooking, travel, photography, and reading.
