Kelly Bokoum

Community Action Committee

My name is Kelly Bokoum, and I am a sophomore (Class of 2027) from Hagerstown, Maryland in Quincy House studying Government and Economics with a citation in Mandarin Chinese. I am the Chair of the Community Action Committee (colloquially known as CAC!), which is the Institute of Politics' hub for community organizing, service, and advocacy.

Over the next year, I look forward to expanding CAC's reach by partnering with campus organizations and organizations in Boston, exploring careers related to organizing – like movement lawyers and non-profit leadership – and reimagining the future of organizing in an increasingly digitized and polarized world.

In addition to my work with CAC, I am a returning member of the IOP’s Women in Leadership (WIL) and have previously served on the IOP's Diversity and Engagement Council. Outside of the IOP, I am involved in the Harvard Undergraduate Foreign Policy Initiative and various affinity groups. In my free time, I like to travel and practice my foreign language skills (my favorite places so far are Dublin, Taipei, and Nairobi), listen to podcasts, and try new restaurants with friends.
