Diversity and Outreach

Hey y’all! My name is Kashish Bastola and I am a first-year student (Class of 2026) from Texas interested in studying history. As Co-Director of Diversity and Outreach, I am committed to expanding our programming on campus as well as amplifying voices and stories that are often missing from IOP spaces. The work we do is stronger and more genuine when we center the voices that are closest to the issues our communities face. I found my voice engaging in public service at the most local levels such as working to end gun violence and improve public education in Texas and fighting for environmental justice in the Gulf South. I am always down to chat about finding a place for you at the IOP! I am also on the CIVICS Executive Board and love working with our amazing students and teachers who care so deeply about their communities. Other communities I am a part of on campus include the Nepali Students Association, Harvard-Radcliffe Institute, PBHA, and the Texas Club. You can also catch me dancing with the Asian American Dance Troupe, dreaming of a Whatameal ® + milkshake, chasing and photographing the turkeys of Harvard Square, and doing anything out in the sun!
