Janna Ramadan

Janna Ramadan

My name is Janna Ramadan, and I am a junior from East Boston, MA pursuing a joint concentration in government and Near Eastern languages and civilizations. After calling the IOP a home on campus for three years, I am honored and beyond excited to service as president of the Institute of Politics for 2022.

My experiences with public service have been shaped by my identity as a Palestinian and Muslim American growing up in a single-mother household. It’s led me to believe that politics and government are most impactful when reflective of community and lived experiences, whether regarding domestic issues or global affairs. Outside of the IOP, I serve on the Board of Directors for the International Relations Council, as a Peer Advising Fellow (PAF) for first-year students, as a Peer Concentration Councilor (PCC) and Research Assistant in the Government Department, and write for the Crimson’s Flyby blog. In my free time, you’ll catch me biking around campus, snacking on fruit, or attempting to cross things off my bucket list - this year it’s learning to play the ukulele!
