Hana O'Looney
My name is Hana O'Looney, and I am a freshman in the Class of 2026 from Gaithersburg, Maryland studying Government and Economics. My interest in public policy started in educational policy, where I pushed to end de-facto segregation, supply free menstrual products, increase mental health support, and end the school-to-prison pipeline through work on my local Board of Education for my county in Maryland. I am a Co-Director of Membership for the IOP, meaning I organize social events and opportunities for students across programs to get to know each other, learn more about the opportunities Harvard offers, and connect with the broader world of public policy. I'm also involved with the Women's Initiative in Leadership and Harvard Votes Challenge. Outside of the IOP, I staff conferences for Harvard Model Congress and report news for Harvard's Radio Station WHRB. In my free time, you can find me exploring theatre or finding new ways to caffeinate.
