Balqies Mohamed
My name is Balqies, and I am a freshman (Class of 2026) from Portland, Maine studying Government. I am the chair of the Citizenship Tutoring program, a service organization committed to helping immigrants from the Greater Cambridge area navigate the citizenship process. Whether it be weekly tutoring for the citizenship exam or guiding tutees through paperwork, tutors in Citizenship Tutoring create meaningful relationships with tutees! Over the next year, I am looking forward to expanding the services and reach of Citizenship Tutoring. Outside of the IOP, I also serve on the Harvard Islamic Society’s board as Director of Public Service and am an active volunteer with the Phillips Brooks House Franklin After School Enrichment program. In my sacred free time, you can find me journaling, re-watching Netflix shows, or avidly participating in retail therapy.
