Amir Smith - 2026

My name is Amir Smith, and I am a freshman (Class of 2029) from Dallas, Texas in Grays West studying History. I'm so excited to be this year's Co-Chair of Harvard Votes Challenge, Harvard's flagship non-partisan organization dedicated to voter empowerment, education, and outreach by increasing voter registration and participation on and beyond Harvard's campus!

Over the next year, I’m so excited to grow HVC for this year’s midterms, increase voter registration across the entire campus through international election programming, corporate partnerships, collaborations both on and off campus, and incorporating public service into facets of the program!

At the IOP, I’ve had the chance to be a part of the Fellows and Study Groups, Policy Program, and CIVICS. While off campus, I’ve worked with my state’s (Texas) and county’s Democratic Parties, campaign Student Lead, and Gilder Lehrman Undergraduate Advisory Council. In my free time, I love cooking and baking, writing, productions (films, plays, and musicals, of course), short films, documentaries, podcasts, and reading a good script.
