Amen Gashaw

My name is Amen Gashaw, and I‘m a sophomore (Class of 2024) from Atlanta, GA in Eliot House studying government on the political economy track with a secondary in molecular cellular biology. This year, I’m so exited to be spearheading the IOP’s outreach as communications director, taking on projects from revamping our email strategy, highlighting student voices on social media and around the IOP, and building collaborative communications relationships across campus. I’ve also served on the leadership teams of HVC, FSG, the HPR, and Policy and hope to continue engaging with each of these programs as a member (and as Senior Covers Editor at the HPR). Outside of the IOP, I serve as President of Harvard Undergraduates for Bipartisan Solutions, as a violinist in the Bach Society Orchestra, and Social Action Chair at HCFA. In my free time, I like to read, write, go on long walks and runs, watch copious amounts of political television and cheesy early 2000s rom coms, and FaceTime my parents. Truly so excited to tackle 2022 with everyone at the IOP!
