My name is Alex, and I am a member of the Class of 2023 in Eliot House originally from Belmont, MA. At the College, I concentrate in Government on the Public Policy track with a secondary in Economics. This year, I am serving as one of the Co-Chairs of the Harvard Votes Challenge, working to institutionalize voting systems and building a culture of civic engagement at the College and University level. My passion for voting was sparked by an experience I had in high school working on a local campaign. Through that experience, I became a firm believer in the power of politics and public service to bring about positive change. I also realized that voting and participating in your community from a young age will lead to a lifetime of civic engagement. I am looking forward to getting Harvard students excited about voting and civic participation so that we can strengthen our communities and make sure our government is truly representative of our wants and needs. Outside of the IOP, I play trumpet for the Harvard Monday Jazz Band, Harvard University Band, and the Hasty Pudding Theatricals, and I am involved in the Harvard Model UN scene. In my free time, you can find me trying out new restaurants with friends, enjoying sci-fi films and shows, discovering new music, and supporting Boston sports teams.
