TIM ROEMER TO SERVE AS HARVARD INSTITUTE OF POLITICS
FALL VISITING FELLOW
Cambridge, MA – Harvard’s Institute of Politics (IOP), located at the John F. Kennedy School of Government, today announced the Fall Visiting Fellowship of Tim Roemer, U.S. Ambassador to the Republic of India (2009-11), member of the National Commission on Terrorist Attacks Upon the United States and U.S. Representative (IN-3, D; 1991-2003).
Roemer’s fellowship will occur the week of October 3. Visiting Fellows traditionally meet with student groups; lead discussion sessions on topical issues and their experiences in public and political service; and participate in public policy classes with students and Harvard University faculty. The Fellows program is central to the Institute’s dual commitment to encourage student interest in public life and to increase interaction between the academic and political communities.

"Tim's broad experience in international diplomacy, national security and in Congress working toward bipartisan solutions will certainly interest our students and the University community."
Previously announced IOP Fellowships include Fall Resident Fellows, who will begin weekly discussion groups on September 19: Christina Bellantoni, associate politics editor, Roll Call; Ron Christie, author and former special assistant to President George W. Bush and deputy assistant to Vice President Cheney for domestic policy (2001–04); Tad Devine, Democratic political and media strategist; Linda Moore Forbes, deputy assistant to President Bill Clinton and deputy political director, the White House (1993–2001); senior advisor to U.S. Senator Evan Bayh (2001–11); Steve Grand, Republican political and media strategist; and Diane Casey-Landry, former chief operating officer and senior executive vice president, American Bankers Association; president and CEO of America's Community Bankers (2000–07). In addition, the Visiting Fellowship of Ed Rendell, two-term Pennsylvania governor (2003–11), former Democratic National Committee general chairman (1999–2001) and mayor of the city of Philadelphia (1992–99) will occur the week following Roemer’s Fellowship in mid-October.
