GOP retreat volunteers head home

During the past few days they’ve heard addresses by President Donald J. Trump and Vice President Mike Pence. Yesterday they met U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley and House Speaker Rep. Paul Ryan (R- WI).  IOP students active in the Fellows and Study Groups program were working at the 2018 House and Senate Republican Member Conference,  which  wraps up today.

Kate Krolicki ’20, Emily Hall ’18, Kethan Dahlberg ’18 and Tyler Jenkins ’19 were invited to work at the annual retreat by organizer Mark Strand, President of the Congressional Institute and 2017 IOP Fall Fellow.  Dahlberg and Krolicki served as liaisons to Strand during his Fellowship.

Off the record sessions attended by scores of Senate and House members, focused on policy areas including tax reform, workforce development, government and congressional reform, and infrastructure.
