Each semester our firm hosts ambitious interns in the Washington, D.C. office that are charged with the challenging, but rewarding responsibility of helping us achieve our mission by assisting with the daily operations of the firm.

Communications Intern 

Job Description

• Relationship building with our online community by maintaining Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and other media accounts.
• Track social media analytics using HootSuite and other software, and report results and new ideas to the communications team.
• File and retrieve documents and reference materials (via Google Docs).
• Create compelling content and creative feedback and viral loops between our Facebook Page, Twitter, and other accounts.
• Collaborate with IMPACT Strategies staff on new ideas, directions, and venues for marketing and communications.
 • Draft, distribute and pitch news releases, media alerts and other stories, andmaintain media contact lists.
• Monitor legislation on the House Floor and collect current news updates and press clips.
• Assist in planning, writing and managing monthly eNewsletter.
• Design flyers, graphics, and other marketing material for major events hosted by IMPACT Strategies.
• Update the IMPACT Strategies website when needed.
• Attend all IMPACT Strategies events and team meetings.

Experience
• Graphic / Web design experience preferred but not required.
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Background in Political Science, Marketing, Communications, or other related discipline.
• Highly organized, with an ability to prioritize time-sensitive assignments.
• Ability to problem solve, be detailed orientated, take initiative, and communicate
effectively

Policy Intern

Job Description
• Draft, prepare and edit memos, correspondence, communications, presentations
and other documents.
• Monitor legislation on the House Floor and collect current news updates and press
clips.
• Conduct research, assemble and analyze data to prepare reports and documents.
• File and retrieve documents and reference materials (via Google Docs).
• Knowledge of standard office administrative practices and procedures.
• Attend meetings and briefings when necessary.
• Collaborate with IMPACT Strategies staff on new ideas, directions, and venues
for marketing and communications.
• Assist in planning, writing and managing monthly eNewsletter.
• Attend all IMPACT Strategies events and team meetings.

Experience
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Background in Political Science, Marketing, Communications, or other related discipline.

Social Media Intern

Job Description
ØAbility to develop online strategies to increase fans and followers.
ØAssist with the creation of unique content to increase engagement and market efficiently on appropriate channels.
ØAssist in firm website redesign.
Ø Utilize social advertising to generate more website traffic.
Ø Analyze social media insights and adjust strategies accordingly.
Ø Assist in the production of monthly Newsletter and Press Releases.
Ø Actively seek unique and interesting blogs relating to the political arena.
Ø Knowledge of social media channels including, but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Periscope,  YouTube, Snapchat and Instagram.

Experience
• Strong critical thinking skills.
• Highly organized, with an ability to prioritize time-sensitive assignments.
• Self- Starter.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to problem solve, be detailed orientated, take initiative, and communicate effectively.
• Background in Marketing, Business, or Communications.
• (Preferred, but not required) Knowledge in graphic design, Google analytics, and/or SEO.
