Thelma Duggin has been actively involved in the Republican Party for over a decade. Having attended the Republican National Committee's Campaign Management College, she has worked in numerous campaigns around the nation. From 1977 to 1979 she was Secretary of the Georgia State Republican Party. Additionally, she was a delegate to the Georgia Republican State Convention in 1977 and a 1986 delegate to The White House Conference on Small Business. Ms. Duggin served as Special Assistant to President Reagan from 1981 to 1983 and as Coordinator of Minority Affairs to Secretary of Transportation, Elizabeth Dole. She is currently on the National Advisory Council on Adult Education and is the Vice Chair of the National Advisory Committee on Minority Participation in the Republican Party.
