Nicholas R. Carbone

Nicholas R. Carbone is the Hartford City Council Democratic Majority Leader. He joined the City Council in 1969 and became Deputy Mayor in 1977. From 1974 to 1976, he served as the Chairman of the Hartford Democratic Town Committee. Carbone became a consultant to the University of Hartford's City Institute in 1975. He is a frequent guest lecturer at the University and several other colleges and high school in Connecticut. At the national level, Carbone was one of 15 members of the drafting sub-committee of the Democratic platform committee in 1976. He is currently chairman of the National League of Cities' Employment and Income Security Committee.
