John Murray has nearly two decades of public and private sector experience in communications, public affairs and politics in Washington, D.C.

Currently, Murray is the Founder and President of the YG Action Fund, a Super PAC dedicated to supporting conservative candidates for elected office who hold true to the Young Guns movement – a movement identified with Majority Leader Eric Cantor, Majority Whip Kevin McCarthy and Budget Chairman and Vice Presidential candidate Paul Ryan. Murray is also the Founder and President of the YG Network, a non-¬‐profit 501(c)(4) organization dedicated to supporting conservative policies.

Prior to this, Murray served as Deputy Chief of Staff for House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-¬‐VA) and Communications Director during Cantor’s tenure as Republican Whip. Dubbed by the Leader as his “national chess piece person,” Murray oversaw communications, press, strategic initiatives and political outreach for Cantor. He was also instrumental in the planning and roll out of the 2010 New York Times bestseller, Young Guns: A New Generation of Conservative Leaders, authored by Cantor, McCarthy and Ryan.

Before joining Congressman Cantor’s team, Murray was a Founder and Partner at AB+M Partners, LLC – a strategic communications and public affairs consulting firm. Murray has also spent time in leadership roles at a range of trade associations, corporations and public affairs firms including the Pharmaceutical Care Management Association (PCMA), America’s Health Insurance Plans (AHIP), the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA), Freddie Mac and international public relations firm Burson-¬‐Marsteller. Murray also served in senior roles at the 1996 and 2000 Republican National Conventions, as well as with the Dole/Kemp 1996 Presidential Campaign.

Murray is a graduate of Franklin and Marshall College in Pennsylvania, and holds a Master of Health Science in Health Policy from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. He and his wife Joanna – a native of Melbourne, Australia – live in Virginia with their daughter Isabella. In his spare time he produces live concerts with national rock acts from L.A. and Boston.
