Cyril D. Tyson

Cyril Tyson is vice president of Optimum Computer Systems, a management consultant firm. He is the former Deputy Administrator for Minority Economic Development and Commissioner of the Manpower and Career Development Agency in New York City's Human Resources Administration. Since 1956, he has held administrative posts in New York concerned with housing, human rights, and poverty. He was Project Director of Harlem Youth Opportunities Unlimited, Inc., which produced the document “Youth in the Ghetto”; he helped design the structure of HARYOU-ACT and became its Executive Director. For 20 months, Mr. Tyson was Executive Director of Newark's United Community Corporation.
